Le 35 bis

le35bis

Popped under the water to France last weekend on Le Shuttle (mainly to re-stock ourselves with wine) and paid a worthwhile 24 hour visit to Lille. We ate vanilla filled waffles, canard with thyme and honey, drank cocktails and gazed at beautiful shop windows, pastries, fresh market produce and modern art. For photos, follow @onesugarplease over on Instagram.

We stayed overnight at a fantastic little B&B called Le 35 bis. Situated conveniently around the corner from a metro line into the city, the B&B was clean, stylish, comfortable and run by the lovely and helpful Jamila. Can’t recommend a stay there enough.

A Weekend in Normandy: La Linière

Here’s the second post from last weekend in Honfleur. We stayed in a beautiful B&B, La Liniere, just 5 minutes walk from the harbour. It was stunningly decorated – original floorings and ceilings had been lovingly restored, it was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our room was 70 euro a night and this included a typically French breakfast of fresh croissants and baguette with a choice of jams, and tea and coffee in floral teacups and antique silverware. I’m already recommending it to friends and family. It felt like a boutique hotel but for less than the price of a night at a Premier Inn.
